Revelation

Revelation 1 - Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it.

Revelation 2 - Sins of churches...Ephesus: needs to return to God. Smyrna: Is too wealthy. Pergamum: some follow gods. Thyatira: follow false prophets.

Revelation 3 - Sins of churches continued - Saris: is spiritually dead; Laodicea: tries to hard to be politically correct.

Revelation 4 - John is brought before the thrones in heaven; in the center were four creatures: 1 like a lion; 1 like an ox; 1 like a man; 1 like a eagle.

Revelation 5 - An angel ask who is worthy to open the Seals & no one answers; John weeps because no one is worthy; then a lamb comes forward who is worthy.

Revelation 6 - Six of the seven seals are opened by the lamb.

Revelation 7 - 144,000 from the each tribe of Israel is sealed. A great multitude from every nation and language stood before the throne of the lamb.

Revelation 8 - Seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.

Revelation 9 - John's visions continue; sees a future where four angels are released to kill a third of all mankind.

Revelation 10 - An angel appeared with a little scroll. He told John to eat it. It tasted as sweet as honey, but turned his stomach sour.

Revelation 11 - John sees a severe earthquake and 7000 people die; survivors give glory to God. Second woe passes, and third is to come.

Revelation 12 - A woman appeared that was clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet with a crown of 12 stars. Then war broke out in heaven.

Revelation 13 - A beast comes from the sea; and a beast out of the Earth. Let the person who has insight calculate number of the beast. That number is 666.

Revelation 14 - John sees the lamb standing on Mount Zion; with him are 144,000 who have his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.

Revelation 15 - John sees a temple filled with the glory of God, but no one could enter until the seven plagues of the seven angels were complete.

Revelation 16 - John witness the Seven Bowls of God's Wrath; people curse God because they are so bad, but will not repent. 

Revelation 17 - John sees the prostitute of Babylon, who is drunk w/ the blood of God's people. Then woman is the great city that rules over Earth.

Revelation 18 - The is sorrow over the fall of Babylon, but also a warning to all to escape the fate of Babylon's judgment.

Revelation 19 - The Heavenly Warrior defeats the beast. On his robe and thigh it says: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

Revelation 20 - Satan is bound for a 1000 years; after 1000 years, he will be released and deceive nations; then he will be tormented forever.

Revelation 21 - John sees a new heaven and a new earth. In the new Jerusalem the Bride of the Lamb is waiting.

Revelation 22 -God said to John, "I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done."

Revelation in 140 Characters - John taken to heaven and shown prophecies of the end of the world. God tells him he is coming soon.

The New Testament in 140 Characters - Jesus came, wept, was killed, and rose. Jesus saves. Apostles preach and are persecuted. John sees heaven. The end will one day come.

1 John

1 John 1 - If we claim we are without sin, then we deceive ourselves; if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and forgives us.

1 John 2 - Don't sin. But if you do sin we have an advocate on our behalf in Jesus Christ. Whoever claims to live in Christ must live as Christ did.

1 John 3 - This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.

1 John 4 - God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God. We love because he 1st loved us. Whoever loves God must also love their brother and sister.

1 John 5 -  Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

1 John in 140 Characters - Don't sin. But if you sin we have an advocate on our behalf in Christ. If we confess our sins, God forgives us. God is love.

James

James 1 - God does not tempt us; we are tempted when we are taken away by our own evil desire and enticed. Desire gives birth to sin.

James 2 - Faith is nothing without doing what is good. Even demons believe in God and shudder.

James 3 - Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

James 4 - Come near to God and he will come near to you. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

James 5 - Be patient until the God's coming. Is anyone in trouble? Let them pray. The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.

Hebrews

Hebrews 1 - In the past, God spoke to his people through prophets; in the last days, he spoke through his son, whom he appointed the heir of all things.

Hebrews 2 - Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are the same--Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.

Hebrews 3 - But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

Hebrews 4 - God's word is alive & active; nothing is hidden from him. Hold firm to the faith you profess. Approach the throne of God with confidence.

Hebrews 5 - Solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Hebrews 6 - God is not unjust; he will forget your work. Jesus Christ became a high priest forever--he is the certainty of God's promise to us.

Hebrews 7 - The law appoints men who are weak as high priests; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who is made perfect forever.

Hebrews 8 - By calling the covenant Christ made "new," God made the first one obsolete; what is obsolete will soon disappear.

Hebrews 9 - The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves.

Titus

Titus 1 - An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.

Titus 2 - In everything you do, set an example by doing what is good. The grace of God offers salvation to all people.

2 Thessalonians

2 Thessalonians 1 - God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well.

2 Thessalonians 2 - Watch out for the man of lawlessness, who proclaims to be God. Stand firm & hold fast to the teachings of the Gospel.

2 Thessalonians 3 - Keep away from "believers" that our disruptive and not living according to the Gospel, but do not treat them like an enemy.

Romans

Romans in 140 Characters
God does not favor one people because they follow rituals; believers should live by faith, not by law. Love is the fulfillment of law.

Romans 1
Paul writes to the Romans explaining that he wants to visit. Explains that God's wrath will come on those who have perverted the world.

Romans 2
Paul writes circumcision is no longer required to be save-- says that it is what a person does on the inside (not outside) that saves them.

Romans 3
Paul writes that no one is righteous in their own right, but is only made righteous through the faith that is given to them.

Romans 4
Paul explains that Abraham didn't become blessed because he believe in God; he was blessed because he had faith in God.

Romans 5
Paul continues that sin was in the world before the law; because of Adam we have sin, because of Christ we have grace.

Romans 6
Believers should count themselves dead to sin, but alive to God. We should become slaves to righteousness.

Romans 7
Paul stresses he is not saying the OT law is bad; rather he's saying it's only through Christ that we can work through the sin in our lives.

Romans 8
Paul says to live by the flesh and die; live by the Spirit and live. The Spirit helps us in weakness. Nothing can separate us from God.

Romans 9
Paul declares Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have got it because of their faith; Jewish, who are living by law, have not.

Romans 10
Paul writes that he really wants all Jewish people to believe because anyone who does will never be put to shame.

Romans 11
God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Romans 12
Paul encourages believers to be a living sacrifice, and to humble yourself--love, in action.

Romans 13
Love is the fulfillment of the law. Paul encourages all to be clothed in Christ and not to think about fulfilling desires of the flesh.

Romans 14
Paul encourages all to stop passing judgment and do what leads to peace.

Romans 15
Paul explains that it is his ambition to preach the gospel of Christ to people who have never known God (i.e. Gentiles)

Romans 16
Paul writes his farewell; encourages believers to watch out for those who cause divisions and stay away from them.

Acts of the Apostles

Acts of the Apostles in 140 Characters
Jesus taken to heaven. Apostles decide what to do next. Christians persecuted. Paul becomes a Christian & preaches Good News to world.


Acts 1
Jesus taken up in a cloud to heaven. After this, the apostles meet to decide who will replace Judas, who betrayed Jesus. They pick Matthias.

Acts 2
Holy Spirit comes & causes believers to speak in tongues during Pentecost. Peter pleads all to repent & be baptized. Believers fellowship.

Acts 3
Peter heals a paralyzed man; after the healing Peter delivers a teaching.

Acts 4
Peter & John go before Jewish leaders; leaders don't know what to do w/ them. Believers pray together & share possessions.

Acts 5
Ananias and his wife Sapphira die for lying to the Holy Spirit. Jewish leaders begin persecuting Apostles to keep the Gospel from spreading.

Acts 6
Disciples choose 7 to assist them. One of the 7 is Stephen, who Jewish leaders say is corrupting people & they look for way to kill him.

Acts 7
Stephen tells Jewish leaders their hearts & ears are uncircumcised; leaders so angry that they kill him. Saul, who became Paul, is there.

Acts 8
Saul approves of killing; he begins to persecute other believers and destroy their foundation. Apostle Philip evangelizes to an official.

Acts 9
God appears to Saul while going to Damascus to persecute believers, and becomes a Christian; Peter brings a dead woman to life.

Acts 10
God tells Peter to eat at Cornelius (a non-Jew) home; Peter is hesitant to dine with non-Jew, but realizes God doesn't favor one people.

Acts 11
Peter explains why he ate with a non-Jew; by end of his story, no one had any objections and now believed all could be granted repentance.

Acts 12
Peter is put in prison by King Herold to get the approval of Jewish leaders; an angel rescues him from his jail cell.

Acts 13
Paul (who was formally known as Saul) and Barnabas are sent off to preach the word of God.

Acts 14
Paul and Barnabas continue to go around synagogues in the Mediterranean; nearly stoned on one occasion.

Acts 15
Council started to decide if Gentiles should be circumcised. Barnabas & Paul argue that you don't. Paul & Barnabas go their separate ways.

Acts 16
Paul continues to travel and preach with Silas. They are in prison, but are released when magistrates discover they are Roman citizens.

Acts 17
Paul continues to spread the good news; some Jewish leaders try to stir up trouble to stop it.

Acts 18
Paul goes to Corinth & tries to preach to the Jews; when they become abuse he declares he will only preach to the Gentiles.

Acts 20
Paul continues to preach the gospel. People who make and sell goods for idol worship become nervous about losing business and start a riot.

Acts 21
Paul returns to Jerusalem where angry Jewish leaders want to kill him; commander of Roman Army arrested Paul before they can hurt him.

Acts 22
Paul gives testimonial to Jewish crowd; they are quiet until he says God will send him to the Gentiles; his Roman citizenship helps him.

Acts 23
Over 40 Jewish priest and elders make an oath to kill Paul; Paul is warned about this. He is transferred to another city by armed guard.

Acts 24
Paul brought on trial; to grant Jewish leaders a favor, Paul is left in jail but also given certain freedoms.

Acts 25
Paul brought on trial again; he appeals to Caesar. No one knows what they should write to Caesar, because he has did nothing wrong.

Acts 26
Paul gives his testimonial to King Agrippa; King Agrippa likes him & declares he could have been set free had he not appealed to Caesar.

Acts 27
Paul sails to Rome as a prisoner; a bad storm leaves them shipwrecked; miraculously everyone survived.

Acts 28
Paul arrives in Rome; is allowed to live by himself under guard. He calls together Jewish leaders and preaches to grounds under Roman guard.
